Second preseason game vs. Casademont Zaragoza in Teruel

2025-26 Pre-season

Valencia Basket

Valencia Basket’s men’s team will face its second preseason matchup against Casademont Zaragoza in the fifth edition of the Pepe Lanzuela Memorial, which will be played on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Los Planos Arena in Teruel. The game will be broadcast on DTT and streamed by Aragón TV, and charity tickets will be available at the headquarters of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the capital of Teruel at a price of five euros.

Getting players back

In this game, coach Pedro Martínez could field the five Spanish internationals (Josep Puerto, Jaime Pradilla, Xabi López-Arostegui, Sergio De Larrea, and Yankuba Sima) who missed the first preseason friendly and have now joined training. Darius Thompson, however, has not yet returned following his EuroBasket campaign with Italy and will be unavailable, while Nate Reuvers missed last Sunday’s game due to ankle discomfort.

Second preseason test

The taronja team faces the second of its four preparation games ahead of its participation in the Endesa Supercup. After opening with a 92–85 loss in Yecla against UCAM Murcia and then this matchup against the Aragonese side, Pedro Martínez’s men will wrap up their preseason by returning to the EncestaRías tournament for its tenth edition. The taronja will meet Baskonia on Friday, September 19 at 6:45 p.m. The following day, they will play against the team with the same result in the other semifinal, contested by Río Breogán and Real Madrid. The third-place game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and the tournament final for 8:30 p.m. The first official game will come with the Endesa Supercup semifinal against Unicaja, set for Saturday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m.

The opponent: Casademont Zaragoza

Wednesday will also be Casademont Zaragoza’s second preseason game. The Aragonese side played their opener in Pamplona on Sunday the 7th against La Laguna Tenerife, falling 73–85, with one of their new signings, shooting guard Erik Stevenson, leading the scoring with 16 points. The Zaragoza squad has kept much of last season’s core, including taronja legend Bojan Dubljevic, who also stood out in the opener with 13 points, alongside Marco Spissu, Trae Bell-Haynes, Santi Yusta, Miguel González, and Jaime Fernández, as well as recalling Langarita and Joaquín Rodríguez from their loans. All of them are now under the orders of new coach Jesús Ramírez.

Among the new arrivals, the most notable is Dominican center Joel Soriano, who joins Casademont Zaragoza on loan from Valencia Basket, along with other ACB-experienced players such as Devin Robinson and DJ Stephens. Debutants include the aforementioned Stevenson and Turkish power forward Sadik Emir Kabaca.
